A Gentle Place to Land After Pet Loss

The bond we share with our animals is unlike anything else.

They witness the quiet moments of life that no one else sees. The morning routines. The tears no one knew about. The walks that helped you breathe again. The way they stayed beside you without needing any words.

And when that presence disappears, the nervous system feels it immediately. Suddenly, you are standing in the kitchen making a cuppa, looking down at the empty space where their bowl used to be, and the silence in the house feels deafening.

When the Mind Won’t Stop Replaying Everything

Losing a beloved pet is losing a member of the family.

You might feel physical exhaustion, a tightness in your chest, or find yourself wide awake at 3:00 am with a mind that won’t stop looping through the “what ifs.”

  • Did I wait too long?

  • Did I do it too soon?

  • Did they know how much I loved them?

When the mind is grieving, it can act like a terrified, untrained puppy. Barking with questions, running in circles, and desperately trying to find some way to control everything. We don’t need to fight those thoughts. This kind of grief is deeply physical, and the background hum of anxiety is just the body’s way of bracing against the shock.

At All About Your Joy, we don’t try to rush your grief away or tell you to “move on.” Instead, we gently help the nervous system settle so you can take a physical sigh and let the love you shared remain, without the constant sharpness of guilt, panic, pain, or regret. We aren’t trying to fix the pain; we are just clearing the static resistance so the natural warmth of their memory can re-surface.

A gentle reflection on the "heavy" weight of grief. Learn how to meet pet loss through presence and compassion, as shared in the All About Your Joy healing journey.

A Gentle 4-Week Path Through Grief

  • Week 1 – When Everything Feels Raw: Support your nervous system and drop your shoulders as the body slowly begins settling after the shock of loss.

  • Week 2 – Learning to Breathe Around the Grief: Allow memories to surface without feeling completely overwhelmed or swallowed up by them.

  • Week 3 – Softening the Guilt and “What Ifs”: Gently meet the looping thoughts, quiet the mental barking, and begin making peace with what was never fully in your control.

  • Week 4 – Carrying Their Love Forward: Learn how to hold their presence and rest back into your beingness in a way that feels warm rather than unbearably sharp.

A Note from My Heart to Yours

This programme was born from the silence left behind by a yellow Labrador named Benji.

Even after twenty-plus years of nervous system work and grounded presence practices, I still felt that hole in my chest. We open our hearts so deeply to their unconditional love, knowing we will most likely outlive them. And somehow, even knowing that, it never really prepares us.

I created this space for Benji, for your heart animal, and for the version of you that simply needs somewhere gentle to land right now.

A place to breathe. A place to soften. A place where grief is allowed to move naturally without needing to be fixed.

The search for answers can stop here. You can just rest.

Common Questions

That can happen. When the nervous system stops bracing so tightly, your jaw softens, and feelings that were being held underneath can finally take a physical sigh and move through. This isn’t you “falling apart.” It’s often the body finally feeling safe enough to let go of the internal clutter. You are always in control of the pace. If you need to pause, rest, or come back later, that is completely okay.

Grief doesn’t move in straight lines. Sometimes the loss happened years ago, but the nervous system never truly had the chance to settle around it. This work is about subtraction. Taking off the old layers of frozen grief. It meets you wherever you are, whether the loss was recent or long ago.

That’s completely understood. This isn’t about pressure, hustle, or “keeping up.” Even a few quiet minutes of grounded support while you’re sitting quietly with a hot drink can begin making a difference. You move at your own pace.

Healing After Pet Loss is available as its own guided journey, so you can access dedicated support specifically for pet grief. Many people also choose to join our wider Global Pack for ongoing nervous system support, meditation journeys, and connection afterward inside the #YourJoyfulRevolution community.

Once you join, you’ll receive instant access through the All About Your Joy app on Apple or Google devices. From there, you can listen to the guided sessions anytime, wherever you need them most. Whether that’s curled up on the couch, sitting in the car after the vet, or walking quietly with the memories still close to your heart.
