About Jules
I've spent more than twenty-five years exploring what helps people come back to themselves.
Along the way I've studied, travelled, taught countless people, and walked alongside many through some of life's most difficult moments. But, the greatest lessons have come from ordinary life. Sitting quietly with a cup of tea as the clouds roll by. Walking beside my dogs. Losing those I love. Watching the mind race and play. Discovering there is another way of meeting life.
A profound shift in 2003 changed how I experienced the world. The search I'd spent years following simply fell away. Since then I've been interested in one thing above all else.
How do we make sharing this beautifully simple?
Not as another philosophy or belief. Not as something reserved for a lucky few. Just something ordinary people can recognise for themselves while living ordinary lives.
That question became All About Your Joy.
Today I create gentle courses, guided practices and a global community that help people find a little more space, a little more ease, and a healthier relationship with their own minds. Whether someone arrives through Healing After Pet Loss, the Balanced Affirmation Method, #LiveLikeYourDog, Your Joyful Path, or Simply Being Here, everything points towards the same quiet discovery.
Nothing is missing.
Life is already here.
And maybe there's far more joy available than we've been taught to believe.
Have you ever found yourself looking around at your life and thinking, “Something doesn’t fit anymore”? Nothing has necessarily gone wrong. The people around you may be the same. Your home may be the same. Your job may be the same. From the outside, very little has changed. But somehow, something inside of you has.…
The Beauty of Change and Authentic Living There are those moments when gratitude just fills us up. It’s like, simply being here can warm your chest and soften your breath. Life has this perfect way of responding to the energy we put out and it can feel so good! The people we meet, those animals…
I see it everywhere. People desperately wanting peace, freedom, and just a bit of relief from the constant noise in their heads. But, the solution they’re usually offered is just more thinking. More information, more frameworks, more concepts, and more mind. And it seems perfectly logical, doesn’t it? If I’m struggling, surely I just need…
In business, and in life, how you treat others says less about them and everything about you. It’s easy to assume our interactions are a reflection of other people’s behaviour. That when we respond with frustration, judgment, anger, or kindness, it’s simply because they deserved it. But here’s a truth that’s quietly transformative: How you…
The other day a very familiar realisation struck. It involved the strange modern habit of creating content about being present. Scheduling emails about joy, organising social media posts about living in the moment, and building courses designed to help people stop chasing and start living. And somewhere in the middle of it all, a question…
What “Taking the Piss” Really Means Beneath the Surface In the UK, when people say “taking the piss,” they mean poking fun at someone. It sounds pretty harmless, right? For a lot of people, it’s just a part of how they interact. But if you look a bit deeper into the energy behind it, things…
Why Your “Mood Swings” Might Actually Be Your Soul Waking Up You know that moment when something inside you refuses to be ignored any longer? It’s that feeling when you are about to combust over something tiny, and suddenly you are left wondering who you even are in that moment. Across New Zealand, so many…
(Trauma, Survival Mode, Nervous System Healing & the Simple Wisdom of Our Dogs) The Invisible Conversation That’s Happening All the Time Take a moment to imagine watching two dogs meet at the beach. Don’t look at them through the lens of training or what breed they are. Just watch them in your mind’s eye. One…
A few days ago, I was watching Chester carrying a stick along the beach at Mount Maunganui. It was a good stick. The sort of stick a Labrador would happily carry for miles and even fight his sister for. He trotted along proudly with it for a while. Then something else caught his attention. It…
At a Glance: The Core Concept: You cannot “think” your way out of a survival response; the nervous system speaks in sensation, not logic. The Key Method: Interoception (internal sensing) and somatic resets. Top Home Tools: The “Extended Exhale” to calm the vagus nerve and the “Wet Dog Shake” to discharge adrenaline. The Goal: Moving…
